Requesting an Ascend Instance

What is an Ascend Instance? Your Ascend Instance is a dedicated application for your organization. This is where you will where you build, run, and manage your data flows, as well as manage your organization, users, and permissions.

In order to request an Ascend Instance, you will need to provide the following information to support@ascend.io:

• Organization Name - This is your organization's name.
• Instance Name - This is the subdomain of your instance. Your instance hostname will follow the format <instance-name>.app.ascend.io.
• Admin Users: Please provide a list of admin users you would like added to your instance.

As part of early access to Ascend, all users in your Instance will be given the "Admin" role by default, and will thus have access to create, modify, and delete resources in your Instance.

• SSO Provider: Ascend currently supports Google Auth. If you require another SSO provider, please let us know!
• Vault: Ascend integrates with Cloud Vaults to store your secrets and credentials. You can either chose to set up your own Cloud Vault in one of the supported cloud providers, or you can chose to use an Ascend-managed Vault. If choosing your own vault, let us know which cloud provider you will be using:
  • AWS Secrets Manager
  • Azure Key Vault
  • GCP Secret Manager
• Data Plane: The Data Plane is where your data will be stored and processed, as well as where Ascend will store run-time information about your Instance. Please let us know which data warehouse you will be using:
  • Snowflake
  • BigQuery
• Repository: Ascend stores your Project files in a Git repository. You can either chose to use your own Git repository, or you can chose to use an Ascend-managed Git repository. If choosing your own repository, please let us know which Git provider you will be using:
  • GitHub
  • GitLab
  • Bitbucket
